This is the warmest parka ever, and provides excellent coverage due to the length. In fact, it is actually too warm for weather above about -20 C and it is very easy to break out into a sweat in weather colder than that with even moderate activity. It is never cold enough to be appropriate for vigorous activity like winter hiking, not even -40 C on the prairie. My wife wore it all last winter over a baby carrier while wearing our infant son, and now that he’s grown into a snowsuit, it’s my turn to wear it.

The only improvement I would make would be to the hood. It attaches quite far to the sides of the collar, leaving it quite wide and inverted-U in shape, rather than the more wind proof tunnel hood design of my -5 to -25 C parka by another well known Canadian manufacturer. The fur seems to get into my eyes as well for some reason and does not have any sort of internal wire to roll it back as my other parka does.

Overall, I am delighted with how well this parka works for our 2-3 months of below -20 C we get on the prairies and feel the quality has the potential to last for many years.
