Outdoor Survival Canada partnered with ‘Test Your Limits’ for an inspirational journey to the South Pole in January 2013. A team of cardiologists and a heart transplant recipient touched down in the South Pole to raise awareness for heart health and the Heart Failure program at the Peter Munk Cardiac Centre, University Health Network outfitted in OSC.
The expedition battled –60º Celsius temperatures, and the development of the ‘MISSION’ coat is a collaborative project with lead expeditionist and cardiologist, Dr. Heather Ross and her associate, Dr. Diego Delgado.
“Based on my expedition experience in some of the most extreme conditions, this coat is created not only to withstand the intensity of the South Pole but it has all of the little details and features that make the biggest difference when you are exposed to the elements. The opportunity for us to be involved in the customization of this coat with Outdoor Survival Canada surpassed my expectations and I am grateful to have them as a part of our ‘Test Your Limits’ team.”
