It is important to note that temperature rating is not an exact science – it is only used as an indication of general outside temperature. Each individual has a different baseline of clothing required to attain a certain level of warmth and comfort. Additional contributing factors also include wind, type of outside activity (ice fishing vs. dog mushing vs. walking), how much energy you’re expending, and for how long.
Loft Power (or Fill Power) is the measurement of space one ounce of down occupies. This is only one metric used to measures warmth; it does not account for materials used, sealed seams, etc. The combination of all these features increases protection against the cold.

Avoid compression and allow your garment to breathe. Feathers will clump, resulting in patchy insulation and cold spots. Use a hanger or store loosely folded. Do not store in plastic!

Our coats use YKK two-way zippers which are more finicky than one-way zippers. Without holding the pull, insert one side of the zipper into the bottom of the track. You will hear a soft click once the two sides are lined up. Holding the bottom in place, pull the top slider upward to close the zipper. Do not force the zipper. The bottom slider can now move up and down freely as required.
